As a family who uses home education, we are exercising our choice not to start school yet. We usually begin our school year sometime in mid-August often before the public schools begin. But this year is different. This year, the public school students have started school but we have not. We may start on Monday, but that is still yet to be determined.

I have known since before the end of our school year in May what we would study for this coming year. Yet, the acquisition of materials has not been as quick. Some items I purchased from the homeschool classifieds website which is fabulous for deals. But the consumable materials I needed, I waited and procrastinated in purchasing. I did order most of it online this week, and it's been shipped. So Monday isn't looking too bad as a start for us.

My three children are asking to get started on school. I think they fear they will be left behind or that everyone will finish before them. Or maybe they are just ready for the routine and the excitement that a new school year brings.
