Homeschooling 101
Planning is essential to success in homeschooling. Yesterday, I took out all the books that I hoped to use this year for my three children. It was fun seeing them all atop the table until I realized that I was missing one. I found one of the missing books today, but one is still in hiding. I hope it shows up by Monday when we will start our new school year.
I found a great new planner that I think will help me know what my kids are doing. They always seem to be in the know, but sometimes I am out of sync. So I hope that this will help. It is called the Well Planned Day. I have a companion one for my son who will begin his middle school venture this year called The Well Grounded Middle Schooler. I hope he likes it too.
Our history will be intense this year as we continue with Story of the World vol. 4. I printed out a timeline for us to do: 1800- 2000. I am going to supplement the material for my second grader so she can participate without being overwhelmed with the outlining and projects that the other two will undertake this year.
It almost makes me wish tomorrow was Monday; but no, I'll wait. I'll enjoy Friday with it's last tennis lesson of the summer and time with friends swimming afterwards.
